Zhejiang Huakang Polyols High-tech Research and Development Center was founded in July 2001 and in 2004 we were approved provincial high-tech enterprise research and development center. In 2005 we were awarded the provincial company technology center by Zhejiang Economic and Trade Committee. The center has modern office building, middle scale workshop, experiment and examination office and etc. It is also equipped with national advanced research and development equipment. The center has staff of 81 persons. Among them 44 are the researchers with advanced professional title 9, intermediate title 35, and primary title 37. The company has Professor Youxin as the senior consultant of the company. He was the previous light industry department food division manager，founder of Chinese xylitol industry，honored president of Chinese Fermentation Industry Association and Production and Application of Chinese Food Additives Association.

Ever since the foundation, the center has emphasized on the work of improving the technology innovation ability and technology development method, completing the technology innovation system and medium scale trial base and intensifying trial production ability; and combining closely the encourage system and related policy of staff training with market demand and technology development direction to implement the technology innovation system. The continuing improvement of innovation ability will combine the technology development, innovation, modification and product development into technology center planning and management to do more contribution of company development and technology improvement.

The center will positively center on the target of the enterprise, technology innovation strategy and “10th 5 year” technology development planning. In the respect of major product technology development, advanced research and development, the center develops a series of effective activities: 1 country key new product, 3 included in the State and provincial technology medium and small industry innovation fund projects, 3 included in the State and provincial torch projects. 3 Zhejiang high-tech products, 5 provincial industry new products, 7 technology achievement has reached international advanced level. As one of the drafting company, the center will attend the edition modifying work of the State standard“food ingredients xylitol” and enacting the State standard of xylose and maltitol.

The center will gradually set up an open operating mode, widely absorbing the advanced technology result and high level technicians home and abroad. The center focuses on production and learning cooperation and technology exchange. By using the society scientific resource, the center improves the research development ability and level of the center. The extensive combining system of production, learning and research system has improved the ability of using technology resource by company. The center has cooperation with Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Industry University, Jiangnan University and East China Scientic and Industrial University, Wuxi Separation Applying Technology Institute, Zhejiang Microbe Research Institute. The center has also setup with Jiangnan University an innovation organization- Polyols Industry Chromatogram Application Research Center to constitute a domestic research and staff training base to have a solid foundation for company project development.

The center has achieved greatly on the aspect of absorbing international advanced technology and innovation. Many technicians trace the latest dynamics and dozens of persons are dispatched to foreign industries to study and have technical communications with them. The center fully makes use of the international technical resource and developed a batch of high-tech products of contemporary level. Meanwhile, foreign experts are invited to provide technical inquiry and service to transform and absorb the external cooperation result in order to increase the present product technical content. The center proceed with extensive research of foreign technologies, implement technical result to transform into production technology and the medium scale and industrial trial of the goods to proceed with the research of the technology with common character and crucial technology.
